Marci For WorldMark

What is a Proxy?

Technically, the ONLY way to vote in a WorldMark election is to attend the Annual Meeting and cast your vote in person.  A very tiny percentage of our 250,000+ owners is able to do this!  Therefore we MUST vote by proxy.  If you fill out a ballot form and mail it in or if you fill out an online ballot, you are still voting "by proxy" -- you are instructing either the WorldMark Board of Directors or a specific individual or entity to cast your votes for you in the way you have directed.

So what is all the fuss about a Proxy Drive?  There is another way to vote by proxy, which does NOT involve specifying how your vote is to be cast.  If you follow the issues facing WorldMark, the Club and its corporate governance, that’s great.  There is no better way to protect your investment than to get involved, make your own decisions, and cast your own vote (in person or by directed proxy).  The fact is, however, that most owners just prefer not to, or are simply too busy with their every-day lives and vacation planning to get involved in great detail.  In that case, using a proxy form allows you to appoint a representative, someone who DOES understand WorldMark and follow the issues at hand, to cast your vote on your behalf.

In an annual WorldMark election, you have the option of assigning a Proxy Holder to cast your vote for you for up to three years.  This assignment can be made on the official election materials made available through the mail or online in September and October each year, or at any time by submitting a proxy form.
