The official results of the 2009 election have been posted on the WorldMark the Club website. (Click here) Not surprisingly, the incumbents were once again returned to office.
The official announcement does not give the detailed break-out of the votes. Click here for a detailed break-down of the votes.
My name is Marci Tribe, and I am an independent candidate for the 2009 WorldMark Board of Directors. I am passionate about owner rights and about ensuring that the Board of Directors operates within the highest ethical standards. As an independent candidate, I have no ties to or financial interests in any organizations that would cause you to doubt where my allegiances lie. If elected, I will always place the rights and interests of the owners above all others.
I am running for the Board because
I am deeply concerned about the appearance of impropriety in the composition
and voting record of the current Board. When you cast your vote in the upcoming
election, I would like you to consider the following.
Why has the Board never challenged the Developer on the issue of ever-increasing credit values for new resorts?
Why won't the Board tell us how many units the Developer books for its own use or public rental, and under what programs?
Why is our Annual Owner Meeting run like an advertisement for Wyndham Vacation Ownership instead of an opportunity for owners to discuss Club business and issues?
Why does the Board work so hard to prevent communication between owners?
Why has the Board derailed proposals to adopt formal ethical standards and board handbooks that would address the conflict of interest of having Developer executives serve on the Board?
Why has no Developer-affiliated Director ever been defeated in an election?
Why are several members of the current Board being sued for failing to protect the best interests of members?
It is because of these and many more concerns that I am running for the WorldMark Board. I encourage you to take a hard look at the current composition of the Board and the impact of recent changes to our Club, and to make an informed decision on what candidate will best protect your interests as an owner. It would be an honor to serve as your representative on the WorldMark Board, and I hope you will vote for me.
